Compensation:

  • In accordance with California law, the expected salary range for this position is posted with this position. The actual compensation will be determined based on experience and other factors permitted by law.


Director of Business Development Responsibilities


The primary purpose of this role is to work collaboratively to support Wayfinder’s strategic expansion and manage the new business development life cycle, including new opportunities, developing and driving proposals for new business procurement, and leading innovative projects.


Essential Functions

  • Work closely with program leadership to source, assess, and select new program opportunities and areas for service line development and expansion.
  • Responsible for drafting and submitting public grants, including program design and budget management
  • Proactively research and evaluate industry trends, best practices, and public funding opportunities to identify new opportunities for revenue-generating activities and partnerships.
  • Pursue and cultivate strategic partnerships with cross-sectoral community providers.
  • Work closely alongside the program leadership team to plan, implement and oversee the successful start-up or expansion of programs and projects.
  • Advise on the sustainability of Wayfinder’s various services and the relevance of upcoming legislation, policy, and funding measures in child welfare, behavioral health/managed care, and visual impairment and developmental disabilities sectors.
  • Participate in local public child welfare and mental health planning and committee meetings, relevant external community, regional and statewide forums, task forces, meetings, collaborative or initiatives, as appropriate.


Qualifications

  • Master’s degree in business, public or health administration, social services, or a related field from an accredited college or university.
  • Minimum of 5 years of demonstrated grant writing, business development, program design and program start-up experience.
  • Supervision and management of cross-sectional teams preferred.
